The cutting surface is made from four-inch-thick, solid end-grain Northern Hard Rock Maple with Cream Finish. The Varnique semi-gloss finish is virtually maintenance free. Impervious to household chemicals it cleans up easily with mild soap and water. It is a fine furniture look - not suitable for chopping and cutting.
